8 - 12 March 2024

Really big art, colourful sculptures and First Nations art in a variety of unique locations; artists’ talks, guided tours and a Curated Supper are all part of the Beechworth Biennale 2024 from 8-12 March.

Beechworth Biennale has evolved from the 2022 Beechworth Contemporary Art Award to now showcase 16 exciting artists as well as the town, its food, wine and people. This year there is a full program that is supported by volunteers at each site. Visitors can pick up a map and explore all the works for free in their own time or join one of our volunteer-led guided tours or see the works at night on the Curated Supper tour.

Enjoy the thought-provoking atmosphere with art on display during the day and several sites open after dark. As with all good art, it will be engaging and at times provocative.

Site-specific installation is typical of experimental art of postmodern times. It moves beyond the traditional subject, materials and gallery context and prompts audiences to question ‘What is art?’ Beechworth provides the perfect canvas for that discussion.

We look forward to celebrating shared histories, reflecting on the past and proposing opportunities for an inclusive and safe future.
